Faustrecht

Cinema documentary film by Bernhard Weber & Robert Müller
2006
84min

FAUSTRECHT takes behind the violence statistics of young offenders who are also victims. In this long-term documentary film, Bernard Weber and Robert Müller follow the protagonists Tim and Gibran between the ages of 16 and 18. Tim is an introverted teenager who is prone to uncontrolled outbursts of violence. The film shows him on his «odyssey» through institutions and foster families "in search of a quiet place" (Tim's quote). Gibran is an extroverted charmer who uses violence to achieve his goals. «I beat anyone who wants to be beaten, whether man or woman» (Gibran quote). He is serving his prison sentence in a closed institution, where he is confronted with his violent behaviour on a massive scale.
